In May 2018, the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca (TUCN) prepared a Case Study called “Design for AM, to produce complex metal parts”. The study was prepared for Michelin Romania, location Zalau (Salaj), and the main objective was to present a practical example of how should be designed and manufactured an existing industrial metallic component in order to expose the advantages of SLM process.
The authors of the study, Cosmin Cosma and Nicolae Balc, from TUCN decided to publicly disseminate the results of the study in order to transfer the knowledge and support the Additive Manufacturing (AM) practitioners to develop new industrial applications for AM. The Case study is available at this link.
