One of the objective of the AMaTUC project is to raise the research profile of TUCN and the twinning partners. This could be partly quantified by monitoring their participation and success in research funding programmes and especially Horizon 2020 Programme. The partners already submitted one proposal during the latest H2020 Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions, which received a very good mark but unfortunately was not selected for funding. This proposal will be improved and re-submitted for next call but the partners are also discussing about new project ideas and opportunities in the European H2020 Programme.
Due to the consortium interest in H2020 Programme, the partner Intelligentsia decided to study the importance of Additive Manufacturing research and innovation in the Framework Programmes. The 1st AMaTUC summer school organised in Aachen, Germany, the 22-27 August 2016 (see the related articles in the News section) was the perfect occasion to present the study and its interesting results.
Key information on AM related projects were found in the European Commission's documentation, while an in-depth analysis of H2020 projects was carried out to complete the analysis. The results obtained are very interesting and some trends can be already identified. One of the key outcome of this study is that in 2 years of H2020 Programme, the European Commission almost invested as much as in 7 years of FP7 Programme. The study will be frequently updated with new AM related projects completed the existing list of 70 projects, part of which the AMaTUC project.
The team is really happy to spread these information with all of you and you can be informed of the release of the updated study by subscribing to our mailing list.
