From the 22 to the 27 of August 2016, the partner FH Aachen organised the first project summer school in Germany. The young and motivated team at the institute already organised such event and their experience have been a real asset in the success of our project summer school. Their knowledge and experience in organising summer school will be transferred to the other partners for the forthcoming summer school.
FH Aachen attracted more than 20 people to their summer school which was our target. Among the attendees the AMaTUC consortium was well represented with 11 participants from TUCN, 4 from Loughborough University and 2 from Intelligentsia Consultants. Moreover FH Aachen also managed to invite international students from Greece, Germany, Egypt, etc.
During this 6-day summer school the participants received theoretical lectures on various topics (e.g. Additive Manufacturing, CAD/CAM design, free hacking and other relevant topics) as well as practical workshops on how to build a RepRap printer, improve its performances and print custom designs. In order to raise the awareness of the participants on active research and innovation organisations in the region, FH Aachen also organised visits to Fraunhofer ILT, WZL Aachen GmbH and to their famous FabBus. |
